Our Story

Working Dog Winery was established in 2001 when a few friends decided it would be fun to plant grapes and make some wine. Their hobby turned into a passion and as the vineyard grew each year, it now stands at nearly 20 acres of vinifera with over a dozen varietals. After 23 years of hard work and dedication, the founding members decided to pass their legacy to the capable hands of Carlee Ludwig, Sharon Kyle and Kevin Kyle as they began their retirement journey in December of 2024.

Our Vineyard

The vineyard is located in the rolling terrain of eastern Mercer County in Central New Jersey.

We started with 3 acres of Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay. The more we planted, and the more wine we made, the more we came to realize that our terroir - that combination of soil, climate, topography - is capable of producing outstanding fruit and award winning wine!

Our Wines

Working Dog Winery continues its dedication to the New Jersey Fine Wine Movement and focuses on expression of terroir with each new vintage. Our award-winning estate grown wines are made with great care here right at the winery. It is our hope that our passion for the art of wine-making is evident in every glass - Cheers!
